Here in America, this coming Thursday is a day of giving thanks. It's a day of reflection, when you can look back at the past year and think about what you've accomplished. It's a time to spend with family and friends, both eating food and enjoying your favorite sports on television. And if you are the Pun Headline Writers at NHL.com... it's a time to give thanks to Paul Holmgren. For without him and his crazy trades, you now know which Flyers center to focus on.
Of course everyone has different things to be thankful for when it comes to celebrating Thanksgiving. But for me... it's the Player-Name-Pun-Headlines that grace the front page of NHL.com each and every day. Sometimes it even feels like a spoil of riches.
Funny enough, this is the same headline that ran when the Rangers signed Brad Richards.
This is also what you would pay if you buy that TV before Black Friday.
Why do I have a feeling that Justin Timberlake says to himself before going on stage.
Tuukka Rask was actually at the first Thanksgiving. In a cave.
With a 7-2 record in place of Ryan Miller...
Jhonas Enroth is bound to be getting a lot of extra "f's" from fans around Buffalo.
This is the same thing photographers say to Marleau when he smiles.
Remember, Thanksgiving isn't just about the turkey... it's about all the sides and fixin's. And by fixin's... I mean Partial-Name-Player-Pun Headlines!!!
The only wagon Ilya Kovalchuk cares about is Wells Fargo.
If they can't re-sign Weber and Suter, any chance the Predators have to win will wilt away.
Rue the day? Who talks like that?
The writers at NHL.com made a pun on the least interesting part of Anze Kopitar's name.
Milan Hejduk would like to know why this pun was never made about him.
Yeah, it took me a couple times to get it too.
This also refers to the way the Hurricanes are holding on to the concept of being a professional hockey team.
And of course... there is one thing popping up on the front page of NHL.com that all hockey fans should be thankful for.
Even if it's just to make fun of his moustache.
