When it comes to technology in its game, the NHL seems to be ahead of the other major sports. There are comprehensive explanations of illegal hits sent out via Twitter. There are cutting edge uniforms that help to increase the speed of the game... as long as you don't sweat. And soon there will be a tiny green line that tells us fans when it's safe to cheer for a goal. But none of that compares to the new technology that the writers of the NHL.com Pun Headlines busted out this past week.

But honestly.... those weren't even the funniest headline I saw this past week.

It seems that something called the "NBA Lockout" might be leaving several thousand fans without a league to follow come November 1st. So you can bet that the good folks at the NHL.com Pun Headline Writing Department are going to jump on the opportunity to have the great sport of hockey appeal to a whole new fanbase. But I think they got their fledgling sports leagues mixed up. 

I am really not comfortable with the way Mike Komisarek is looking at Kessel.

We took last week off for a little vacation here at the Pundays Playoffs, where we are holding a Stanley Cup style playoff format to determine the best NHL.com pun headline of the 2010-2011 season. But rest assured, this week... we are back to our normal situation.

I have the feeling that this Sidney Crosby concussion situation is going to be anything but normal.
Also, there is nothing normal about that thing on his lip. 

When we last checked in on the Pundays Playoffs, there were 8 NHL.com Pun Headlines battling it out to advance to their respective Conference Finals. And with nearly 300 votes being tallied, we sure had a blast determining the winners!

But with only 4 Pun Headlines left in the voting, 2 for each conference, now is the time for these Pun Headlines to really step up their game and prove that they aren't chokers. There is only one word to describe the Pundays Playoffs Conference Finals!
