Much like our counterparts over at St. Louis Game Time... I've had a hard time finding enough hate to put towards the St. Louis Blues in their 2nd Round matchup with the Los Angeles Kings. I mean... let's be honest here... these franchises are very similar. Both teams are lovable losers who haven't won anything of any substance during their 44 seasons in the NHL. So just when I think "Hey, you know what... these Blues aren't half bad"... I remember this.
Fuck you, St. Louis. No... not because you traded for Wayne Gretzky... but because you got Wayne Gretzky for Patrice Tardif, Roman Vopat, Craig Johnson, Matt Zultek and Peter Hogan.
If you want in-depth analysis of the upcoming 2nd Round NHL Playoff Series between the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues... then you should really check out RudyKelly's preview over at Battle of California. But if you want to hear myself, Podcaster General Jesse Cohen and Brad Lee from St. Louis Game Time talk nonsense about the upcoming battle between two teams that were last in the 2nd Round in 2001/2002... then listen below!
The start of the 2nd Round of the NHL Playoffs are getting closer and closer for the Los Angeles Kings. And that can only mean one thing! An in-depth look at the Kings opponent by Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck. Now, the 2nd Round is definitely uncharted territory for the LA Kings... and Brigitte has decided to take her team previews into the one aspect she hasn't featured in any of her past Know Your Opponent features... bestiality!
The only thing more surprising than the Los Angeles Kings making it to the 2nd Round is having enough energy to record a brand-new episode of All The Kings Men right after the Los Angeles Kings make it to the 2nd Round. So myself, Podcaster General Jesse Cohen, The Mayor John Hoven and Matt from Life In Hockeywood took some time out from buying our Jarret Stoll jerseys online to talk about the Los Angeles Kings advancing to the 2nd Round for the first time since 2001.
The LA Kings leading scorer in the 2001 NHL playoffs with 0 goals and 9 assists in 13 games.
Also, Puck Daddy asked me to participate in their annual tradition of roasting teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs, better knows as Puck Daddy Eulogies. Check out my thoughts on the end of the San Jose Sharks season over at Puck Daddy.
I don't want to talk about it. But it looks like I'm going to be out of town for Game 5 and unable to watch the Los Angeles Kings attempt for the 2nd time to eliminate the Vancouver Canucks from the 2012 NHL Playoffs. Thankfully, I'll still be able to follow along with the game on Twitter!
Fuck you Brown, suck my mother fucking DICK! #LaKings
Not a problem at all. I'll totally be able to feel like I'm watching the game live via Twitter. In the meantime, Jesse Cohen and I talked with Jason Kurylo from the Canucks blog, Pucked in the Head, about Game 5, what's next for the Canucks if they are eliminated and the Luongo-Schneider Debacle. Check it out here, subscribe to it on iTunes or you can listen below.
It's the post-Game 4 edition of All The Kings Men with myself, Podcaster General Jesse Cohen and The Mayor John Hoven. Now that the dust has settled from all the parades being thrown in Vancouver, Jesse identifies the biggest threat for the Los Angeles Kings in this 1st Round Series.
2001 was so long ago that the Tupac Hologram has better resolution than this video.
In the 2001 Playoffs, the LA Kings were a 7th seed up against the big machine that was known as the 2nd seeded Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings were about to start an amazing streak of 8 straight years finishing 1st in their division and would even go on to win the Stanley Cup the next season. But after losing the first 2 games, the LA Kings roared back with 4 consecutive victories to advance to the 2nd round. Which is exactly what every sane LA Kings fan is worried the Vancouver Canucks is going to do starting tonight.
The only scientific proof that the LA Kings ever beat the Detroit Red Wings.
I haven't been emotionally equipped to deal with the Kings 3-0 lead in this series against the Canucks. So I have no idea what I'll be feeling when I'm at Staples Center tonight. This is the Kings first 3-0 lead in a playoff series ever... like ever, ever ever. And I think we all know how well the LA Kings do with an early big lead. The Canucks backs are against the wall so bad they have started the Twitter Hashtag #ReverseSweep to get their fans invested in winning this series. Even more desperate of a move than starting a Twitter Hashtag is the fact that the Vancouver Canucks are even thinking about rushing their good twin back early from a concussion... which you know... always turns out well.
This could very easily be the face of Canucks OR Kings fans tonight.
So sit back and enjoy it, friends. And if you are going to the game in LA... be sure to participate in the newest trend sweeping the nation!!!
