FIRST... read our GAMEDAY PREVIEW for Game 1 of the 1st Round Series between the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues. Exclusively on LAKings.com.

This will make much more sense once you've read the GAMEDAY PREVIEW.
THEN... it's a brand-new 1st Round Edition of All The Kings Men Podcast!!! Jesse Cohen and I chat with Brad Lee from St. Louis Game Time about all things Blues and Kings. Then Jon Hoven from Mayors Manor stops by to indulge Jesse's hypotheticals as well as preview the series. You can check out the brand-new episode of All The Kings Men Podcast here, subscribe to it on iTunes or listen below:
Now all that is left is for the game to start and the Los Angeles Kings to defend their Stanley Cup Championship. Damn, if that isn't still a weird thing to say.

Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck is back with an all-St. Louis Blues Playoff Edition of her demented look at the LA Kings opponent... something we like to call "Know Your Opponent!" Now, Brigitte has taken on the St. Louis Blues before... but this time... it's personal. Take it away, Brigitte...

Let's talk about the Blues again shall we? I feel like I've made my mild dislike for the Blues known previously. I may have ever so subtly slipped that in one of my previous Know Your Opponent posts about them. The Blues are one of those teams where you think "Man I hear they're really good, but I don't actually know anything about them." Well guess what? I'm hear to help, like for real this time. Is there actual information located in this post? Maybe, if you actually don't know the whole roster. Since we'll be getting quite intimately acquainted with the Blues this next week or two, I've decided to take a look at some of the lesser known members of the team. (Take your pick on which one of these assholes we'll all hate by the end of the series)

| He really is kind of tiny. |
Ok, so people do talk about Sobotka a lot (cue Pierre McGuire's boner), but he's still not one of the Blues "stars". He's also pretty small, at least compared to some other guys on the team. Pretty sure the Kings could literally eat him alive...(insert Dustin Penner/Drew Doughty joke here)

Last year, the Los Angeles Kings lost their final regular season game and it forced them to play the best team in hockey during the first round of the playoffs. This year, the Los Angeles Kings won their final regular season game and it has forced them to play the team they've beat 8 straight times, including a 4 game sweep during the second round of last year's playoffs. When a team has beat an opponent 8 straight times... it's hard to muster up some true hatred toward the opposition. Thankfully, Andrew Cieslak from the Chicago Blackhawks blog Hockeenight came to me and asked if he could write a guest post to show why even though the LA Kings have totally dominated the St. Louis Blues over the past season and a half... we LA Kings fans should still hate them. Take it away, Andrew!

So you’re going to play St. Louis in a playoff series. Lucky you! The most important thing to remember is that St. Louis is a blight on the map of the United States and that their “hockey” team is to be treated with nothing but outright contempt. We in Chicago know that bandwagons can fill up quickly (that's a good thing!) so I come to you from HOCKEENIGHT.COM with a crash course on how to properly revile the St. Louis Blues.

It's the last game of the 2013 NHL Regular Season! And Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck is back with an all-San Jose Sharks edition of her demented look at the LA Kings opponent for tonight's game... something we like to call "Know Your Opponent!" Brigitte is the 4th best blogger I know... so it's fitting that she is blogging about tonight's Battle for the 4th Seed. (Offer Not Valid with a St. Louis Blues Win). Take it away, Brigitte...

"Sure" he says with buck-toothed gleed
"This is one about my team!" he said
"I read it every night in bed".

KINGS 1, WILD 2

KINGS 1, RED WINGS 3

This will make more sense once you've read the GAMEDAY PREVIEW.
Our RECAP master PumperNicholl takes a look at the Los Angeles Kings last two losses. He would have published this earlier, but he ran into my elbow on Tuesday night. Take it away, PumperNicholl....

KINGS 4, STARS 3 (OT)
Our RECAP master PumperNicholl takes a look at last night's Los Angeles Kings-Stars game. He actually wrote a recap and then the referees took it away from him so he had to write another one. Take it away, PumperNicholl....

With the top three seeds all but wrapped up atop the standings, Sunday was a BIG night for the remaining playoff-hopeful teams in the Western Conference. Six of the seven teams (rest up, Detroit) were in action and jockeying for position.

FIRST... read our GAMEDAY PREVIEW for tonight's LA Kings game against the Dallas Stars. Exclusively on LAKings.com.

THEN... Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck is back with an all-Dallas Stars edition of her demented look at the LA Kings opponent for tonight's game... something we like to call "Know Your Opponent!" Don't worry, LA Kings fans... I'm not going to be making fun of the Dallas Stars... last time I did that, it backfired big-time.

The Stars went on to win this game 5-1.
Take it away, Brigitte...

I've had a long standing hatred with the Stars. I've continuously had them at the top of my "Hate List", so I figured this post would be easy. If fact it was super easy until the Stars management (aka noted idiot GM Joe Nieuwendyk) decided to give up on the team. So I had this Dallas Stars post all ready to go for the game on April 9th, and it was glorious. It was really just a bunch of fun/compromising pictures from some of the more "colorful" characters on the Stars. Well...then this stuff happened and the post was ruined!

KINGS 2, LUMBUS 1

Last night was a strange one for Los Angeles Kings fans. The Kings were heading into a late season game they needed to win in their chase for home-ice advantage in the first round. Yet, fans were conflicted. A win for the Kings meant a loss for the Columbus Blue Jackets (trust me, it was a weird sentence to type).
But #LUMBUS was the lovable runt of the NHL. A team that lost its superstar in the offseason and was surely headed for another top draft pick. Instead, they've clawed their way to a possible playoff berth.
And now it was the defending Stanley Cup Champions job to ruin their season (even weirder to type).
Anyway, let's see how it all played out in the Twitterverse.
