Listen... this is Hollywood after all... and when a local sports team is the hottest thing in town you can only expect that there will be the inevitable product tie-in with an even hotter summer Blockbuster.

This may be Indiana Matt's greatest work yet.

TRH Radio Update

Written by The Royal Half on .

Normally, I'm the Los Angeles Kings Disaster Correspondent for The War Room with Mick Kern on XM Home Ice Radio. After the Kings lost a 4-0 lead to the San Jose Sharks in Game #3 of the 2011 Playoffs... I was on their radio show the next morning. And when the Los Angeles Kings fired Terry Murray and were at the peak of the John Stevens Era... I was on their radio show the next morning. And when Jeff Carter was traded to LA... I was on... well... a few mornings later. So when the LA Kings are up 2-0 on the St. Louis Blues and are 6-1 in the 2012 NHL Playoffs over the 1st and 3rd best overall teams in the NHL... well, I was surprised they called too. Check out my appearance from this morning with Mick Kern on The War Room.

TRH Playoff Recap Round 2/Game 2: Draped in Defeat

Written by The Royal Half on .

I have to say... after falling down 2-0 in the 2nd Round of their Playoff series with the Los Angeles Kings, I'm a little worried about the emotional state of the St. Louis Blues most famous fan.

That's right, Jon Hamm aka Don Draper has sat by quietly as his favorite NHL team has lost control of this series to the hottest new thing from his current hometown of Hollywood. And for the first time in nearly 2 years... Sad Don Draper has reappeared on the pages of The Royal Half.

Man, they really do give the best seats to the celebrities, huh?

Indiana Matt wants you to create your own Sad Don Draper and Tweet it out to him.

But trust me... nothing you can come up with is going to look sadder than this:

Sad Vlad Sobotka is my favorite indie rock band.

ARE THE LA KINGS IN THE NEXT ROUND?
NO!

I wish there was some way to visually represent how Los Angeles Kings fans felt after watching their favorite hockey team beat the St. Louis Blues 3-1 in Game 1 of their 2nd Round Playoff Series.

Nope.

Closer.

Really close.

Nailed it.
Seriously... have you ever seen a better visual representation of "Shit Eating Grin" in your whole life?

ARE THE LA KINGS IN THE NEXT ROUND?
NO!

Much like our counterparts over at St. Louis Game Time... I've had a hard time finding enough hate to put towards the St. Louis Blues in their 2nd Round matchup with the Los Angeles Kings. I mean... let's be honest here... these franchises are very similar. Both teams are lovable losers who haven't won anything of any substance during their 44 seasons in the NHL. So just when I think "Hey, you know what... these Blues aren't half bad"... I remember this.

Fuck you, St. Louis.
No... not because you traded for Wayne Gretzky...
but because you got Wayne Gretzky for Patrice Tardif, Roman Vopat, Craig Johnson, Matt Zultek and Peter Hogan.

Playoff Preview Party - All The Kings Blues Men

Written by The Royal Half on .

If you want in-depth analysis of the upcoming 2nd Round NHL Playoff Series between the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues... then you should really check out RudyKelly's preview over at Battle of California. But if you want to hear myself, Podcaster General Jesse Cohen and Brad Lee from St. Louis Game Time talk nonsense about the upcoming battle between two teams that were last in the 2nd Round in 2001/2002... then listen below!

And if that doesn't satisfy your podcast appetite for playoff previews... check out Jesse's interview with LA Kings Color Analyst, Jim Fox. It's just Jesse... because due to a court-enforced restraining order... I'm not allowed to be anywhere near Jim Fox.

Whoa!

The start of the 2nd Round of the NHL Playoffs are getting closer and closer for the Los Angeles Kings. And that can only mean one thing! An in-depth look at the Kings opponent by Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck. Now, the 2nd Round is definitely uncharted territory for the LA Kings... and Brigitte has decided to take her team previews into the one aspect she hasn't featured in any of her past Know Your Opponent features... bestiality!

All The Kings Men - Canucks: Game 5

Written by The Royal Half on .

The only thing more surprising than the Los Angeles Kings making it to the 2nd Round is having enough energy to record a brand-new episode of All The Kings Men right after the Los Angeles Kings make it to the 2nd Round. So myself, Podcaster General Jesse CohenThe Mayor John Hoven and Matt from Life In Hockeywood took some time out from buying our Jarret Stoll jerseys online to talk about the Los Angeles Kings advancing to the 2nd Round for the first time since 2001.

The LA Kings leading scorer in the 2001 NHL playoffs with 0 goals and 9 assists in 13 games.

Also, Puck Daddy asked me to participate in their annual tradition of roasting teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs, better knows as Puck Daddy Eulogies. Check out my thoughts on the end of the San Jose Sharks season over at Puck Daddy.

ARE THE LA KINGS IN THE NEXT ROUND?
NO!

I don't want to talk about it. But it looks like I'm going to be out of town for Game 5 and unable to watch the Los Angeles Kings attempt for the 2nd time to eliminate the Vancouver Canucks from the 2012 NHL Playoffs. Thankfully, I'll still be able to follow along with the game on Twitter!

Not a problem at all. I'll totally be able to feel like I'm watching the game live via Twitter. In the meantime, Jesse Cohen and I talked with Jason Kurylo from the Canucks blog, Pucked in the Head, about Game 5, what's next for the Canucks if they are eliminated and the Luongo-Schneider Debacle. Check it out here, subscribe to it on iTunes or you can listen below.
