Sad Don Draper Season In Review
As all fans of The Royal Half know... two of our favorite things in the world are Los Angeles Kings Hockey and the AMC television series Mad Men. So much so that The Royal Half In-House Graphic Designer, Half Season Ticket Holder Buddy, even created this piece of genius that somehow never made it into a blog post last season.

Randy Jones is totally Pete Campbell.
So after last week's amazing episode of Mad Men and the subsequent internet phenomenon that has become Sad Don Draper... The Royal Half decide to look back at the Los Angeles Kings 2009-2010 season... Sad Don Draper Style!
Check it out after the jump!
It was mid-December and the Los Angeles Kings were near the top of the Western Conference. Then... Teddy Purcell became the 1st Line Right Winger.

The Kings never regained their top of conference swagger and barely eked into the playoffs for the first time in 8 seasons. Then... they lost in the first round.

After tasting the sweet nectar that is the NHL post-season, summer came and with it the potential of loads of salary cap space. Then... someone made a deal with the devil.

The next Sad Don Draper day for most Los Angeles Kings fans will be October 9th, when the Kings open the 2010-2011 season in Vancouver sporting this line-up, courtesy of Battle of California:
Ryan Smyth - Anze Kopitar - Justin Williams
Alexei Ponikarovsky - Michal Handzus - Wayne Simmonds
Scott Parse/Oscar Moller - Jarret Stoll - Dustin Brown
Rich Clune - Brad Richardson - Kevin Westgarth
It's enough to make a grown man cry.

Other candidates for a new Sad Don Draper - Los Angeles Kings internet meme:

Mad Ryan Smyth.

Sad Erik Ersberg.

Angry Terry Murray.

Just because.
Training camp starts in 9 days. Man, this could be a sad season.
