What A Difference a Year Makes
After the Los Angeles Kings beat the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road last night 4-1... I received this in my inbox this morning:

The marketing approach of "Stretch Run Packs" and "Playoff Race Specials" is a big change from the Kings Marketing Team campaign from around the same time last year:

Thankfully, it doesn't seem like the Kings Marketing Department is trying to emulate my playoff campaign from last season, Exert for Eighth! Today, the Kings woke up in 6th place in the Western Conference... 2 points out of 4th place and 6 points away from being out of the playoffs. And they now have a nice little 4 point cushion on the Nashville Predators who are in 7th place. As Half Season Ticket Holder Buddy said best:
"In terms of sitting, I generally stay away from pointy cushions.
But in terms of standings, I'm enjoying a four point cushion"
Unfortunately, the easy part of this 4 game East Coast road trip is over. The Kings take on the Boston Bruins Saturday and the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. ¿Como se dice... "Statement Games"?
